Is Democracy overrated?

  |   Democracy   |   2 Comments

Sir Winston Churchill once said that democracy is the worst form of government, except for all those others that have been tried from time to time. Democracy is the only form of government with a safety valve, where the people can remove a government if it is doing a bad job. Of course it is not a panacea that cures all political ills, but it meets the aspirations of the people and provides an effective means of managing the state.

This is a very intelligent quote. Yes we do need to protect this ability for citizens to remove governments that are not actually serving them.
